We work closely with our customers as strategic partners in ten countries across Europe. Manufacturing Facilities

Applied Materials has an office in Villach, Austria, to provide dedicated and critical support to our valued customers in the country.

Applied Materials provides support from Leuven for our local semiconductor manufacturing customers, industry, and research partnerships.

From Espoo, Applied Materials focuses on Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD).

Applied Materials France is in Grenoble to leverage the rapidly growing semiconductor industry and research opportunities in the region.

Germany is our largest European operation. With facilities in three key regions (Bavaria, Hesse and Saxony), Applied Materials serves customers across the country and nearby areas.

Applied Materials Greece is focused on accelerating AI integration from Cloud to Edge and increase the value of materials engineering innovations.

Applied Materials has offices in Leixlip to support the country's goal of developing a strong semiconductor manufacturing industry.

Applied Materials has an expansive presence in the vicinity of Milan, Avezzano and Catania, to serve and support a wide variety of semiconductor and IC manufacturer customers.

Applied Materials offers an array of services and support for our Dutch and multinational semiconductor clients from three locations: Hoofdorp, Eindhoven and Nijmegen.

Applied Materials provides from Reading comprehensive services, parts, and support for microchip manufacturing to guarantee high-quality, reliable and sustainable production.

Our Focus

Customer and Product Support

Our operations in Europe cover a variety of functions, including engineering, manufacturing, state-of-the-art research, and both remote and on-site services and maintenance, as well as sales and support. We also provide our customers with access to expertise from our global network. By utilising our vast supply chain and technical know-how, we help our customers uncover exciting new innovations and achieve immense value from their initiatives.

Industry/Academia Partnerships

We promote a thriving innovation network through collaborative research and development projects with top universities and research institutes, for instance, the School of Informatics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece), the Minatec Grenoble Innovation Cluster (France) and the IMEC International R&D and Innovation hub (Belgium).

We support the EU Chips Act and believe in the initiative of a unified EU legislation to help increase the region’s chip capabilities amid booming demand across all sectors of the economy. Dedicated to developing initiatives in collaboration with industry, academia, and the government, we’re a deeply involved member of Horizon Europe, the EU’s key funding programme for research and innovation. We contribute our knowledge and learnings and are an active part of the Key Digital Technologies Joint Undertaking – a Public-Private Partnership for R&D and Innovation.

TRADE AND BUSINESS ASSOCIATIONS MEMBERSHIPS

We are an active member of DigitalEurope, a leading trade association that is aiding the digital transformation of industries across Europe. As a united force, we help shape industry policy on legislative matters and drive the development and implementation of important EU policies. We also play a critical role in SEMI, an industry association that is responsible for innovations in materials, design, equipment, software, devices, and services that enable smarter, faster, more powerful, and more affordable electronic products.

PUBLIC POLICY

We interact with government officials, elected representatives and candidates to advocate for the company, our stakeholders, and the business and trade associations to which we belong. These efforts, led by the Government Affairs group, aim to help shape public policy on issues that affect our business and increase opportunities across the entire industry.

At Applied Materials, we are committed to our ethical and behavioural principles in the course of our work with the EU institutions as set out in the Code of conduct annexed to the Inter-institutional Agreement between the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union and the European Commission on a mandatory transparency register.
