Ireland Overview

Applied Materials Ireland

Applied Materials Ireland was established in November 1992 to support a national initiative to build a robust semiconductor manufacturing business here. We have developed a comprehensive portfolio of service capabilities designed to help customers meet their manufacturing goals—from startup to fab expansion, and through pilot lines to mass production. Our goal is to ensure that our service support programs keep Applied equipment and customer fabs operating at peak performance, integrate the most advanced technologies available, and help make possible innovations in AI, big data, IOT and autonomous vehicles and more.

Our Focus

  • Growth

Customer demand continues to grow here in Ireland as domestic and international device makers expand their operations. Likewise, our capabilities have increased to serve them better. Our customer and process engineer team is expanding to meet growing demand and we have added staff in management, on-site technical support, R&D, finance, logistics, human resources and supply chain operations. Our objective however remains the same: help customers advance the state-of-the-art, solve their toughest device manufacturing challenges and help take the semiconductor industry to the next level.

  • Portfolio

    Industry-Government-Academia Partnerships
Applied Materials established an R&D footprint in Ireland in 2011, creating a research group, donating leading edge device production equipment for research at a major university and joining the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) research cluster on electronics. Since that time, we have strengthened those ties locally through participation in SFI research centers, and regionally with the Horizon 2020 European research and innovation program and research partnerships with leading Irish universities.
