Field Service Engineer Program

If you’re a curious thinker, a hands-on doer, and always looking for better ways to get things done, Applied’s Field Service Engineer Program is the perfect fit for you. 

Details: Field Service Engineers (FSEs) work beside global customers to install, maintain and upgrade their Applied Materials semiconductor manufacturing equipment, delivering world-class support for multimillion-dollar production systems. This rotation program will train and certify you to work in the flourishing semiconductor industry as an FSE for Applied. The rotation may require travel in the U.S. and globally. After your training, you will work as a Field Service Engineer at a customer site located in North America.

Eligibility: New college/university graduates with a Bachelor of Science degree in data science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing, aerospace engineering or a related field.

Location: In the U.S., we offer this program at various Applied locations. Sites may include Austin, TX; Dallas, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Chandler, AZ; Hillsboro, OR; Boise, ID; Albany, NY; or other locations depending on business needs.

What You’ll Learn: During the program, you will:

  • Receive FSE certification to prepare you for your initial role at Applied
  • Experience Applied Materials’ hands-on equipment training
  • Learn about our broad portfolio of products
  • Learn and use Applied Materials’ suite of Digital Tools
  • Get insights into our customers’ biggest challenges – and help us solve them
  • Work on an initial project that allows you to hone your presentation skills
  • Receive a continuing development training program that aligns with your ever-evolving career goals at Applied Materials
