At Applied Materials, we believe that creating positive change comes not only through technological innovation, but also through long-term investment in our communities and the environment. As a company dedicated to delivering material innovation that changes the world, we are committed to creating lasting value through employee engagement, community partnerships and sustainability initiatives. This commitment is reflected in our recently published 2025 Impact Report.
For many years, Applied Materials and the Applied Materials Foundation have supported initiatives that advance education, innovation, community resilience and environmental sustainability, while encouraging employees to actively engage in volunteer service. Today, our focus on building thriving communities informs how we invest in and support the resilience of communities where we live and work.
World Cleanup Day is a powerful example of this commitment in action. This year, Applied Materials is conducting its Asia Cleanup Campaign for the second consecutive year with September and October serving as key campaign months, bringing together employees, community partners and nonprofit organizations across China, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan. Through environmental activities in rivers, wetlands, coastal areas, parks and other public spaces, we aim to connect local efforts under one regional initiative and create lasting benefits for communities and the environment.
Last year, more than 550 employees and family members across six regions in Asia came together through 12 Asia Cleanup Campaign events, removing nearly 800 kilograms of waste from forests, rivers, lakes and coastal areas. Along the way, employees experienced a sense of purpose and connection from making a tangible difference together. Bringing these efforts together as one regional initiative helped amplify that impact across Asia.
As a key enabler of technologies that power the AI era, Applied Materials believes sustainability should advance alongside innovation and societal progress. This year, we further strengthened our collaboration with global environmental partners by becoming a Global Support Partner of Let’s Do It World (LDIW). In addition to supporting on-the-ground cleanup activities, we are also promoting the Digital Cleanup initiative across Asia, encouraging employees to reduce digital waste and adopt more sustainable and efficient ways of working and living.
From communities across Asia, Applied Materials is taking action to help build a cleaner future. Follow Applied Materials, World Cleanup Day and Let’s Do It World (LDIW) on social media to learn more about these efforts and their impact.
