Dr. Alex Belogolovsky is corporate vice president and general manager of Common Systems Software at Applied Materials, Inc. He is responsible for developing system software for semiconductor manufacturing systems, and manages the Common Ground Architecture control software platform that has enabled Applied’s tools to achieve world-class reliability and increased functionality. In June 2011, he was named an Applied Materials Fellow for his outstanding technical contributions to equipment software.
Dr. Belogolovsky has been instrumental in establishing a central software engineering organization and common software platform serving multiple business units across the company. He is responsible for bringing together software talent across the semiconductor and other business units and aligning resources around the world to enable increased collaboration and reuse, resulting in faster time to market and increased efficiency.
Since joining Applied in 1992, Dr. Belogolovsky has held multiple software engineering positions. Prior to Applied, he was involved in software development for various research programs in Russia.
Dr. Belogolovsky received a master of science degree in computer science from Moscow State University, and a Ph.D. in control systems from the Moscow Institute of Engineering and Physics, Russia.
