Jay Kerley is senior vice president of the Enterprise Enablement Group (EEG) at Applied Materials, Inc. and chief information officer for the company. In EEG, he oversees key support functions including Global Information Services (GIS), Global General Procurement and the Global Contingent Workforce Organization. By combining capabilities in new ways and leveraging best-in-class processes, technology enablement and talent development, he is leading the organization to drive a new level of performance and value as the company becomes a more integrated enterprise.
As CIO since 2011, Kerley provides a long-term technology vision that supports the company’s strategies and operating requirements. In GIS he has developed a world-class global IT organization that provides a critical foundation for the enterprise to support the company’s market needs. Additionally, he is an external advocate and promotes awareness of end-user technology trends that link to Applied‘s strategic capabilities.
Kerley joined Applied in 2006 and has more than 25 years of industry experience across business verticals including pharmaceutical R&D, global logistics and high-tech, leading IT transformation and globalization. Under his leadership, he and his teams have been recognized for IT excellence by various organizations, including The National Diversity Council’s 2016 list of “Distinguished Chief Information Officers,” Computerworld’s “100 Best Places to Work in IT” (11 years running) and “Premier 100 IT Leaders,” the “InformationWeek 500” and CIO’s “100 Business Technology Leaders.”
