The Applied HCT Squarer slices cast multi-crystalline silicon ingots into bricks, or pulled mono-silicon ingots, up to 500mm in height, into pseudo-square bricks, with superior surface quality.
The system has a production capacity of 80MW per year and delivers very low kerf loss (0.30-0.35mm).

The HCT Squarer system is available in two configurations to accommodate both conventional slurry-based and diamond wire (DW) cutting technologies.
For maximum production flexibility, customers can convert from slurry to DW with minimum adjustments. DW technology is recognized as an opportunity to improve squaring productivity and be more environmentally-friendly. DW eliminates slurry, uses water based coolant and enables faster cutting and lowers energy consumption. This technology simplifies the squaring process by eliminating the complexity and expense of slurry management.
Our advanced DW water coolant solution, with automated rinsing kit, eliminates excess kerf build-up while maintaining system cleanliness and overall performance. Installation is rapid, simple and low risk, delivering immediate benefits to our customers.
To further improve productivity, Applied Materials offers a high tension upgrade kit that can withstand up to 300N wire tension.
