Steve Ghanayem is corporate vice president and general manager of the Metal Deposition and Front End Products Business Unit for Applied Materials, Inc., where he is responsible for the division’s gross margin and market share growth throughout various business segments and oversees the development and commercialization of products.

Mr. Ghanayem has held various positions since first joining Applied Materials in 1989, including vice president, general manager of the Front End Products Group, managing director of the chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) division, and director of the sub-atmospheric chemical vapor deposition key product unit. He was instrumental in the development and release of key products in the areas of tungsten chemical vapor deposition, dielectric gap fill, and CMP.

Mr. Ghanayem earned a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 1988.
