For the third year in a row, Applied Materials placed on industry trade magazine Computerworld’s “100 Best Places to Work in IT” list as one of 100 top organizations that challenge their IT staff while providing great benefits and compensation. The company ranked 84th for its educational benefits and opportunities. Below is an excerpt from the company’s report profile:
IT career development at this maker of semiconductor production equipment in Santa Clara, Calif., runs the gamut. Over the past few years, hundreds of IT employees have earned professional certifications. The company reimburses employees for earning professional accreditations such as IT Infrastructure Library certification, Project Management Institute certifications, Stanford Certified Project Manager certifications and SAP technical certifications, and offers hundreds of hours of technical business and skill-building courses taught by internal and external instructors.

Since 1994, Computerworld’s annual “Best Places to Work in IT” feature has ranked the top 100 work environments for technology professionals, based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, diversity, career development, training and retention.
