Charitech, a project of Applied Materials, Inc., facilitates networks of "community revolutionaries" by linking the next generation of civic entrepreneurs with local nonprofit organizations—and with each other. The goal is to foster a connected generation of leaders committed to meeting social needs in innovative ways, by applying the logic, principles and tools of The Information Age.
Charitech has been on the leading edge of community and coalition-building for more than a decade. The Charitech model has evolved and been routinely revamped as new Information Age tools and strategies emerge and prove applicable to helping communities help themselves. Projects have been launched and a variety of events have been held in California's Silicon Valley; Austin, Texas; Portland, Oregon; and Richmond, Virginia.
